I think that the biggest bias here is the background knowledge of the student who is being assessed. A text that a student has no background knowledge on might be difficult for him or her to read and understand, regardless of the level of the text.

I have not yet seen many examples of bias, but I do agree with Alexa. I have noticed that a student's background knowledge can greatly influence how well a student can comprehend and complete the reading of the books.

I agree with Alexa, I believe that it is important that students be able to make connections with text. If students have no background knowledge related to the texts students may not be able to comprehend the book as well as a book that they do have background knowledge about. Otherwise I do not see any sources of bias.

I also agree with both Alexa and Katlyn because if the student doesn't have any background knowledge on the book this could interfere with them being able to use different comprehension strategies such as, questioning, predicting, visualizing, and making connections.
